German driver Viviann Ehrl will make her car racing debut by joining the NXT Gen Cup grid in 2025, taking her first steps in the all-electric junior touring car series.

German racer Viviann Ehrl will join the NXT Gen Cup in 2025 for her racing debut. Growing up in her family’s car business, the young driver was quickly immersed in the automotive world and took her first steps on track during the official test days at Gelleråsen, Sweden, last weekend—showing steady improvement throughout the weekend.
She will make her racing debut later this month at Oschersleben, as the NXT Gen Cup kicks off its 2025 season alongside the DTM.
“I’ve always loved exploring different sports, and joining NXT Gen Cup is such an exciting way to connect my passion for driving with my family’s automotive roots. I’m here to learn, compete, and push my limits this season," Ehrl commented.
The fully electric NXT Gen Cup has delivered exciting racing and proven to be a valuable platform for young drivers over the past two seasons—also featuring a significant number of female participants.
Launched in 2023, the NXT Gen Cup expanded internationally in 2024 with races at Oschersleben and the Nürburgring as part of the DTM support package. Its continued partnership with the popular GT3 championship in 2025 will further support the series’ development, with a growing number of young drivers entering the electric touring car championship as a springboard to electric or other closed-cockpit racing disciplines.
