Swedish-Danish driver Vera Jurland will make the switch from karting to car racing, joining the fully electric NXT Gen Cup for the 2025 season. At just 14 years old, she will be the youngest driver on the grid as she competes on German circuits as part of the DTM support series.

The fully electric NXT Gen Cup has delivered exciting racing and a great platform for young drivers for the past two years. As a support series for DTM, the championship allows young talents to race on iconic tracks like the Nürburgring and Hockenheimring, both of which have hosted Formula 1 in the past.
The NXT Gen Cup also features a highly diverse grid, and in 2025, Vera Jurland will become the first female driver to join the field this year.
The series was launched in Sweden in 2023 and, in its debut season, expanded internationally with races in Oschersleben and at the Nürburgring as part of the DTM support package. It continued its partnership with the popular German GT3 championship in 2024 and will remain on the DTM support bill for four race weekends this year.
Jurland is making the transition from international karting to the electric touring car series and will take part in the first official test days in Sweden in April before kicking off the season at Oschersleben later that month.
Bringing her karting experience to this new challenge in the fully electric LRT NXT1, Jurland shared her enthusiasm for the switch: “Switching to electric racing feels like a natural step for me. NXT Gen Cup offers an amazing opportunity to compete at a high level while also proving that motorsport can be both exciting and sustainable", she commented.
"It’s important to be part of this shift and to inspire more people to see racing from an environmental perspective.”
