Tina Hausmann will return for her second season in F1 Academy, as Aston Martin confirmed that the 18-year-old Swiss racer will continue representing the team in 2025, once again competing in a Prema-operated entry.
In her rookie campaign with Prema Racing in 2024, Hausmann finished tenth in the Drivers’ Standings and ended the season on a high note with a career-best fourth-place finish in the final race at Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.
Hausmann began her single-seater journey in 2023 following a karting career that started in 2019; she competed in both the German and Swiss championships, as well as European competitions. Transitioning to Formula 4, she made an immediate impact by securing a podium finish in her debut race weekend at Jerez in the Formula Winter Series, in preparation for her Italian F4 debut.
In the highly competitive Italian series, Hausmann made steady progress throughout the season, ultimately achieving a personal best of eleventh place at Monza in the Euro4 Championship. Her performances led to her selection as Aston Martin’s supported driver for the 2024 F1 Academy season with Prema.
During her rookie F1 Academy season, Hausmann impressed by scoring points on debut in Jeddah and securing six more top-10 finishes, including a strong fourth-place result in the final round in Abu Dhabi.
“Looking back on the incredible opportunity of competing in the 2024 F1 Academy series for Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team with Prema Racing, countless precious and unforgettable moments come to mind,” Tina commented.
“Being behind the wheel and pushing the limits on seven iconic racetracks around the world felt like a dream came true. The learning curve was steep and culminated in a strong result in the final race. Aston Martin Aramco supported me throughout the journey like a true family."
Looking ahead to her sophomore season, Hausmann is eager to build on her experience and take another step forward. She joins the previously announced Doriane Pin at Prema Racing.
“Being able to race for a second year in the series with Aston Martin Aramco and Prema Racing — two incredible teams committed to competing at the top — means a lot to me", she continued. "I want to thank everyone who made this possible. The relentless support of fans around the world has fuelled me with energy to push forward. As a passionate and determined driver, I am fully committed to constantly improving and growing."
“Representing Aston Martin Aramco and Prema in the series is a huge honour and I’m very proud of it. On this global platform you are in the spotlight as an athlete and as an individual, but I feel fully supported in all situations by both teams. Everyone involved does an incredible job and is driven to perform.”
Continuing her support of Hausmann’s journey, Aston Martin’s Head of F1 Academy, Jessica Hawkins, will remain closely involved in her development.
“I am really excited to continue working with Tina in 2025 as she embarks on her second year in F1 Academy,” added Hawkins. “Over the past season, she has grown tremendously, gaining valuable experience and developing both her skills and confidence on track.
“I have no doubt that she will take everything she has learned and channel it into a strong, competitive campaign this year. I look forward to seeing her achieve new milestones as she builds on the solid foundation she has already established.”
The 2025 F1 Academy season will kick off with the Chinese Grand Prix on March 22-23 at the Shanghai International Circuit, a new venue for all competitors.
