Tatiana Calderon will return to IMSA in 2025 with Gradient Racing, driving the new Ford Mustang GT3 alongside Joey Hand, Till Bechtolsheimer in the five rounds of the Michelin Endurance Cup, starting with her third participation at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Colombian racing star Tatiana Calderon is set to return to IMSA for her second Michelin Endurance Cup season with Gradient Racing, with the team switching to the Ford Mustang GT3 platform.
Calderon, who has raced in some of the world's most prestigious championships such as FIA Formula 2, IndyCar, Super Formula, ELMS and FIA WEC, contested her first campaign in North America's premier sports car series IMSA in 2024, when she joined Sheena Monk and Stevan McAleer aboard the Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 for the endurance rounds.
As part of the Gradient Racing team, Calderon made good progress over the season despite facing some technical issues that prevented the trio from capitalizing on their pace; nevertheless she often showed strong pace and front-running speed in the GTD class. She secured a personal best of 12th in the Petit Le Mans event that closes out the season.
Calderon is now set to return to the Texas-based team, who will embark on a new partnership with Ford, having acquired the new Mustang GT3 for the 2025 campaign - starting from the iconic Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. Tatiana will team up with gold-rated Joey Hand and bronze-rated Till Bechtolsheimer - with the addition of Harry Tincknell at Daytona.
“I’m super excited to be returning for another opportunity to win the Rolex 24", said Calderon. "I know we can continue to build on the experience gained with Gradient Racing in 2024, but this time driving the Ford Mustang GT3 beast."
"We have a fantastic driver lineup with Joey, Harry and Till, and although there is a lot to learn in what will be our debut with the Mustang, I’m confident we can deliver a strong start to the year", she continued. "I want to thank Karol G, la Bichota, for her continued belief in me and her support through her Foundation Con Cora and also to Rimas Sport, Wandr.studio, AVL RaceTech and Escudería Telmex.”
It will be Calderon's third participation at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, after her 2020 debut with GEAR Racing and her 2024 return with Gradient. The team will also rely on Tincknell's experience, who drove the Mustang for factory team Multimatic in 2024.
After Daytona, Calderon will also contest other iconic races such as Mobil1 12 Hours of Sebring, the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen, the Battle on the Bricks 6-hour race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the season finale at Road Atlanta, the Motul Petit Le Mans.
On-track action gets underway with the pre-event collective test of the 'Roar Before the 24' on January 17-19, before the 63rd running of the Daytona classic on January 25th.
