French racer Solenn Amrouche aims to keep climbing the ranks of sports car racing and will embark on multiple-programs in 2024, including the full Spanish GT championship - where she was runner-up at debut - the Ultimate Cup GT Sprint, and two rounds of the 24H Series with the new Vortex 2.0.
Solenn Amrouche announced her plans for the 2024 racing season: the young French racer will compete in a multiple program that includes the full Spanish GT Championship GT-CER, the Ultimate Cup GT Sprint series, as well as two rounds of the 24H Series.
Amrouche completed her first full season of competitions with French team Vortex in 2023 and was vice-champion in the Spanish GT Championship in the GPX category, having claimed eight podiums, four class wins and an outright victory.
Last year. Amrouche also contested selected rounds of the Ultimate Cup, Endurance GT Touring Challenge in the 3B class.
Solenn - daughter of fellow Vortex driver Lionel Amrouche - started her racing career in karting, before moving up to Mitjet and Fun Cup. She raced part time in ROSCAR, sharing a Porsche Cup car with her father Lionel. After testing the Vortex V8 machine for the first time, Solenn made her full-time debut in 2023 and highly impressed in the Spanish-based GT-CER, where she collected two class wins at debut in Navarra. More successes followed at Valencia - where she took overall victory - and at the season finale in Barcelona.
With consistency being one of her strongest points, Solenn Amrouche is now aiming for the final step: the championship title in 2024.
Amrouche's chances will be boosted by the switch to the new Vortex 2.0 - a new version of the iconic car that has raced in several GT and endurance series since 2017. The new Vortex made its debut at the 12H of Kuwait in the 24H Series and immediately proved to be fast and more reliable than its predecessor.
Solenn will then return to Ultimate Cup - this time in the Sprint series, aiming to refine her pure performance. "I'm also going to race in the Ultimate Cup Series championship in Sprint, which will be another challenge and also an excellent exercise to know my
limits and progress in my mental and physical aspects, as a driver", Amrouche stated.
In her 2023 Ultimate Cup campaign, she secured three second place finishes out of four participations and was sixth in the championship standings, mainly sharing the car with Lorina Padovani. In 2024, the popular championship will visit circuits such as Le Castellet - which will host the season opener in March - Portimao, Hockenheim, Mugello, Magny Cours, before the finale again at Circuit Paul Ricard.
In addition to these full-time programs, Solenn is set to enter her first races in the 24H Series, also as part of the Vortex team.
"There will also be two races in the very tough 24H Series championship, the level of which continues to increase from year to year", she commented. "These two races will allow me to start preparing little by little to fully integrate this great international challenge."
Amrouche is set to make her debut in the Creventic-promoted series at the 24 Hours of Portimao, which will put her at test with her first 24 hour race on 10-12 May. She will return to the series in September for the 24 Hours of Barcelona.
2024 will therefore be a season full of emotions and learning opportunities for young Sracer Solenn Amrouche, who aims to continue her positive trajectory and move up the ladder of sports car racing.
