Sheena Monk will return to the full IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025, driving a Ferrari 296 GT3 for Triarsi Competizione alongside co-driver Stevan McAleer and joined by Mike Skeen and James Calado at Daytona, with support from JG Wentworth.
Sheena Monk is set to make her return to IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025 with another full season campaign - this time switching to the Ferrari 296 GT3 platform, operated by Triarsi Competizione.
The Ferrari team in fact announced its lineup for its full-season in the #021 car, which will sport the iconic JG Wentworth livery: alongside bronze-rated Sheena Monk will be Scottish pro racer Stevan McAleer, who already teamed up with Monk in 2024 at Gradient Racing.
IMSA veteran driver Mike Skeen will be joining the duo for the Michelin Endurance Cup rounds, while Ferrari factory driver James Calado is set to complete the lineup for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
“It’s tough to grasp the magnitude of the opportunity in front of me and candidly, I haven’t felt this kind of optimism for a program in a long time,” said Monk about the announcement, as she enters her third season in the GTD class of IMSA after stepping up from the GS class of Pilot Challenge in 2023. “ I’ve had the chance to test the Ferrari 296 GT3 with Triarsi and it was refreshing to see a GTD team with such an outstanding level of professionalism."
"We’ve also assembled the most competitive lineup I’ve ever been a part of so I’m eager to combine that with the remarkable capabilities of the 296 to garner strong results for the folks at JG Wentworth.”
Monk raced the Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 machine in both her previous seasons, with ten consecutive top-ten finishes on her rookie year - including two top-five results - and secured her first podium at Road America in 2024, in a season that also saw a fourth place at Long Beach with Sheena securing the best-finishing Bronze driver at the third round.
Despite a few misfortunes and technical issues, Monk proved to be a remarkably consistent driver, often showing good qualifying pace and solid, smart driving in the first stints of the races. After making great progress throughout 2024, she is now ready to take on a new challenge in the highly-competitive Ferrari 296 GT3.
“I’m very excited to contend a full season in GTD with Sheena in 2025,” added Stevan McAleer. “Triarsi’s well-established program with the Ferrari 296 GT3 inspires a lot of confidence for the year ahead. Having my good friend Mike Skeen join for the Endurance rounds is a bonus, and James Calado, a proven 24 Hours winner, is the perfect addition for Daytona."
Monk's program will be once again supported by consumer financial services company JG Wentworth, with the car's livery expected to be launched later this week.
The season begins with the pre-event collective test, the Roar Before the Rolex 24 At Daytona, on January 17-19, one week prior to the 24-hour race on January 24 -25, the first of IMSA's 11 rounds this year.
