Segattini, Sonzogni, Levy team up for all-female team in Italian GT

Faems Team will field an all-female trio—Emma Segattini, Jenni Sonzogni, and Federica Levy—in the 2025 Italian GT Endurance Championship, as they tackle the GT Cup AM 2nd Division with a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup.

The Italian GT Championship will welcome a new all-female team for the 2025 Endurance series, as Faems Team is set to field a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup car for Federica Levy, Emma Segattini, and Jenni Sonzogni. The trio will compete in the GT Cup AM 2nd Division class for the full four-event endurance calendar.

Excitement is high for this project, which not only aims to compete but also seeks to inspire a new generation of female drivers in motorsport.

The three drivers bring varying levels of experience to the team. Emma Segattini, at 20 years old, is the youngest but also the most experienced in the series, having competed in select rounds of both the Sprint and Endurance series in 2024 with a Ferrari 488 Challenge. She secured a class victory at Imola in the endurance round and achieved two top-five finishes in the sprint series at Mugello. Before that, she was a frontrunner in the BMW M2 Cup Italy, where she famously won at Imola, and she also participated in the RAFA Racing Club female shootout at the end of 2023.

Jenni Sonzogni, 23, has experience in both circuit racing and rallycross. She won the 2021 FX Pro Series title in Formula 4 machinery before transitioning to rallycross, where she claimed the 2023 Italian Rally Cross RX5 championship. She then started testing GT cars, and eventually made her Italian GT debut in 2024 at Monza in a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, finishing third in class in difficult conditions.

Federica Levy, 21 years old, is the rookie of the team, making her race car debut after gaining experience in track days and Ferrari Challenge test sessions. The Turin-based driver is eager to progress with every race in her first full season.

Levy expressed her excitement, stating, "It will be a wonderful experience. This is my first time racing in a GT championship, and being part of an all-female team makes it even more special. It’s important to promote the message that women have the potential to follow their passions and succeed in any field—even in traditionally male-dominated ones. This will be a unique adventure with many cars, different categories, and prestigious brands involved. I’m sure we’ll all have a great time together."

The all-female team is part of an initiative promoted by Black Drome, in collaboration with Faems Team, and represents a new model of female leadership in motorsport. The project enjoys the backing of prestigious sponsors, including Sparco, which will provide its Full Efficiency racing suits, and D-Factory, a company specializing in luxury vehicle customization.

Segattini, Sonzogni, and Levy join a growing legacy of female racers in Italian GT, following in the footsteps of Vicky Piria and Francesca Linossi, who competed as a GT Cup duo, as well as Michelle Gatting, Rahel Frey, and Manuela Gostner, who entered the 2021 3H of Mugello with the Iron Dames Ferrari. However, this marks the first-ever all-female trio to contest a full season in the Italian GT Endurance Championship.

The 2025 season will feature four three-hour endurance races at some of Italy’s most iconic circuits. The championship will begin at Misano on May 4, followed by a round at Monza in June. The drivers will then head to Imola in August, before concluding the season at Mugello on September 14.
