Seda Kaçan signs up for TCR European Endurance

Seda Kaçan - the first Turkish woman to race in circuit competitions internationally - has joined TEXACO Team AMS for the inaugural season of the TCR European Endurance series.

Seda Kaçan will tackle her first full-time international season in the brand-new TCR European Endurance championship, teaming up with compatriot İbrahim Okyay in an all-Turkish line up at TEXACO Team AMS.

Kaçan will pilot the Audi RS3 DSG - a car that she has driven both on home soil as well as in the final round of last year's TCR Italy championship in Imola, where the 31 year old driver made history and became the first Turkish female driver in international circuit competitions.

In 2023, Seda Kaçan was second in the Turkish Championship, having only just began her racing career. Despite her late start in the sport, in fact, Seda made great progress in national competitions and was able to claim her first victory - the first ever for a woman in the Turkish Racetrack Championship. Towards the end of the year, she made the leap into the Italian TCR series, in one of the biggest TCR fields in the world.

At Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Kaçan adapted fast and made progess every session, impressing with two podiums in the DSG class, as well as two top-20 overall.

She will now have the chance of sharing the car with a seasoned teammate, as İbrahim Okyay brings experience from some of the top touring car series in the world, including FIA WTCC.

The TEXACO Team AMS duo is therefore aiming high for the inaugural season of the TCR European Endurance championship, which is set to start from Hungary's new track Balaton Park, on April 28th, before visiting Vallelunga, Misano and Slovakiaring.

The format of the new series will feature a two-hour race split in two stints, with mandatory pit stop with at least 2 tyre change as well as driver change. Overall, DSG and Gen I classes will be awarded. A female trophy class is expected as well, with Kaçan being the first female driver announced.
