Dutch racer Nina Gademan, 21, completes the Prema Racing F1 Academy line up, as she joins Doriane Pin (Mercedes) and Tina Hausmann (Aston Martin) at the Italian team for the upcoming F1 Academy championship.
Gademan, who is currently contested the Formula Winter Series with Hitech Grand Prix in preparation to her rookie full-time season in the all-female championship, made her single seater debut in 2024, when she contested the British Formula 4 championship following a very promising karting career.
In her learning-oriented F4 campaign, Gademan made progress and often showed good racecraft in the battles, progressively climbing the ranks closer to the top ten. At Snetterton she was 12th - a result that she equaled at her home race in Zandvoort, before topping it at Knockhill with a season’s best of eleventh. Her season ended again just outside the top ten in Brands Hatch, with 25 points collected over the 26 races contested, and a rookie podium.
On the Dutch GP weekend, Gademan was offered the chance to enter her first F1 Academy weekend in the Wild Card for Prema Racing, and she delivered an outstanding performance, battling for the podium in both races and securing a fourth place in race 1, before a penalty in race 2 demoted her to tenth. With 13 points, she was the highest finishing wild card throughout the year.
The young Dutchwoman was then announced as the BWT Alpine F1 representative for the 2025 F1 Academy season, and she is set to continue in a Prema Racing-operated entry after her strong Wild Card appearance.
"It’s an amazing opportunity to race full-time with Prema after driving at the F1 Academy race at Zandvoort as their wild card", Gademan said. "We showed great potential so I can’t wait for this season to start with such a successful team!"
"We were really impressed by Nina in her first outing with our team at Zandvoort, and we are happy to welcome her for the full 2025 season", added Rene Rosin, Prema team principal. "She can be a leading competitor in the upcoming series and we feel we are already on the same page in terms of preparation."
The 2025 F1 Academy season is set to get underway at Shanghai International Circuit, China, on 22-23 March. Gademan will meanwhile continue her preparation in the Formula Winter Series.
