Dutch racer Nina Gademan has been selected as the new representative for BWT Alpine F1 team for the 2025 F1 Academy season, following a remarkable debut this year in the wild card entry at her home track in Zandvoort.
Gademan, 21, made her single seater debut in 2024 by entering British F4 after previously racing in karting, touring cars and GT at national level.
Highly-rated after her karting career that included IAME Euro Series and Rotax Max Challenge, she also was the gold medalist in the karting slalom discipline in the inaugural edition of the FIA Motorsport Games in Vallelunga, Rome, in 2019.
After some experience in the Belcar Endurance Series, Gademan stared a testing program in F4 machinery with the aim of making the step up to formula cars. She did so in 2024, entering the British F4 Championship with Fortec Motorsport- and soon claiming her first rookie podium at the fourth round of the season.
In her development-oriented campaign, Gademan made progress and often showed good racecraft in the battles, progressively climbing the ranks closer to the top ten. At Snetterton she was 12th - a result that she equaled at her home race in Zandvoort, before topping it at Knockhill with a season’s best of eleventh. Her season ended again just outside the top ten in Brands Hatch, with 25 points collected over the 26 races contested.
On the Ducth GP weekend, Gademan was offered the chance to enter her first F1 Academy weekend in the Wild Card for Prema Racing, and she delivered an outstanding performance, battling for the podium in both races and securing a fourth place in race 1, before a penalty in race 2 demoted her to tenth. With 13 points, she was the highest finishing wild card throughout the year.
Gademan will now have big shoes to fill, as the Dutch driver is set to take over the Alpine seat vacated by 2024 championship winner Abbi Pulling.
“I am incredibly proud to be representing BWT Alpine Formula One Team in the 2025 F1 Academy season” – said Gademan. “This is a moment I once thought might never come, and it is a dream come true.”
“Having the support of a team with such an incredible legacy means the world to me. I am deeply grateful for Alpine’s trust and belief in me, and I can’t wait to make the 2025 season an unforgettable chapter in this journey.”
In preparation for her 2025 season, Nina announced her participation in the upcoming Formula Winter Series with Hitech GP. The series calendar features four rounds between January and March, at Portimão, Valencia, Alcañiz and Barcelona.
“We are happy to have Nina coming on board as our F1 Academy driver selection for the 2025 season”, commented Alpine Team Principal Oliver Oakes. “It was great to see her step up into single seaters at the start of 2024 and to claim points on her F1 Academy debut as the wildcard in Zandvoort.”
“We are excited to see what she can do in the series next year. Nina will be a fantastic addition to our line-up of junior drivers, and we look forward to working with her throughout 2025.”
