Swiss racer Lèna Bühler will make her sports car debut in 2025 as she joins 23Events Racing in the #50 Ligier JS P325 LMP3 car in the Michelin Le Mans Cup.

Bühler, 27, was Vice-Champion in the inaugural season of the F1 Academy and became one of the two drivers from the top-three to step up to Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, contesting a partial campaign.

Bühler then took part in the 2024 European Le Mans Series rookie test at Portimao, driving LMP3 machinery in the #1 R-Ace GP Duqueine, posting promising times.

The Swiss driver will now make her debut in prototypes in the highly competitive Michelin Le Mans Cup, springboard series of ELMS, with French team 23Events Racing, in the LMP3 Pro category; her teammate is yet to be announced.

Léna had a late start to motorsport but quickly climbed the ranks of karting and eventually single seaters. She made a name for herself in Swiss and European karting competitions, then stepped up to Formula 4 machinery in 2020, contesting the Spanish F4 where she was consistently among the point-scorers and claimed two top-5 finishes.

She then made the step up to FRECA, competing in the full 2021 campaign and a partial 2022 season, before returning to the track in 2023, with the creation of the all-female F1 Academy championship. Bühler became the first woman to be signed to the Sauber Academy, and went on to enjoy a highly positive campaign, finishing as Vice-Champion.

With 13 podiums to her name - setting the record at the time for most podiums in a season - Bühler took her first wins in single seaters at Barcelona and Monza. She also scored two pole positions and a fastest lap.

While her return to FRECA was a more challenging one, she nevertheless had positive outings such as a strong qualifying effort at Le Castellet in her final round.

She was also part of the Women Test in FIA Formula E at Jarama, where she drove the Mahindra Gen3 car.

Bühler will now tackle the Michelin Le Mans Cup, also joining fellow F1 Academy racer Marta Garcia, who will contest her first sports car season in the GT3 class.

The LMP3 class field will see a strong 20-car grid, with all four LMP3 chassis manufacturers represented - all powered by the Toyota V35A twin turbo V6 engine.

23Events Racing - who also announced entries in the European Endurance Prototype Cup - will field one single Ligier in the ELMS-support category.

The Le Mans Cup season will get underway in April, with the season opener at Circuit de Catalunya, Barcelona, before the second round at Le Castellet. On June 12th the Road To Le Mans flagship event will see the drivers racing at the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, before other iconic race tracks such as Spa Francorchamps, Silverstone and Portimao, which will host the season finale in October.
