GB4 Championship race winner Logan Hannah will join the F1 Academy field for the season finale at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi as the Wild Card for the Emirati round, in a partnership with luggage brand Away.

Hannah, 23, will thus sport a branded livery and race suit on the #54 Prema-run Tatuus T421 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me to race on an unparalleled platform", Hannah commented. "As someone who loves to travel and experience new places, it’s amazing to be supported by a brand like Away that not only celebrates exploration but is also dedicated to empowering women."

"I’m excited to take on this challenge in Abu Dhabi, where I grew up karting and my career began, knowing I’m part of a mission to help create opportunities for the next generation of women in motorsport. I also want to say a personal thank you, Susie, the entire F1 Academy team, and Away for this opportunity.”

Having previously been based in the UAE in the earlier years of her racing career, the Scottish driver raced in the karting Sodi World Series before stepping up to race cars in 2018, when she entered select rounds of the F4 UAE Championship, at Yas Marina Circuit.

She also competed in some of the top Formula Ford 1600 competitions across the UK, including the Walter Hayes Trophy, before returning to F4 UAE for the Trophy round in 2019, in conjunction with the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - in a race that featured four female drivers, with also Amna and Hamda Al Qubaisi and Reema Juffali.

At the launch of the GB4 Championship in 2022, Hannah joined the field in the F4-based series for a full-season campaign, ultimately securing a race win at Donington and a further second place at Silverstone. She finished the season tenth in the standings.

Most recently, the Scottish racer transitioned to sports cars with a partial campaign in the Ligier European Series in the JSP4 prototype class, where she secured a double top five and a personal best of fourth at Le Castellet.

Two weeks ago she made her racing return to the UAE, contesting the opening round of the Clio Cup Middle East, collecting a sixth place at Dubai Autodrome.

The Wild Card entry will therefore represent her return to single seater competitions, following the F1 Academy collective test earlier this year at Abu Dhabi, where she had the chance to get behind the wheel of the second-gen Tatuus F4 car.

She is the sixth Wild Card of the season - with the concept being introduced in 2024 to highlight local or emerging talents to strengthen the talent pool: Reema Juffali raced at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at the season opener, followed by Courtney Crone in Miami, Nina Gademan in Zandvoort, Ella Lloyd in Singapore and Alisha Palmowski in Qatar. Crone and Lloyd have already been signed for the 2025 season.

“Partnering with F1 Academy in their fearless pursuit of meaningful change aligns deeply with Away’s mission to reimagine the world for the better", said Jen Rubio, Away co-founder and CEO. "As a female-founded company, championing emerging female talent in traditionally male-dominated spaces is at the core of our brand."

"We’re thrilled to support Logan’s journey—her grit, determination, and unwavering pursuit of excellence embody the boundless potential of women everywhere. We can’t wait to see her shine on the international stage in Abu Dhabi, inspiring countless others to chase their dreams without limits.”
