Linda Frey will join the NXT Gen Cup grid in 2025, becoming the next female driver to take on the all-electric touring car championship. The Lichtensteiner comes from a sim racing background, having competed in the junior category of the Porsche eSports Carrera Cup Suisse, before making the switch to real-world racing in April 2024.

The 17-year-old made her debut in the Renault Twingo Cup at Balaton Park in Hungary, where she left a strong impression. She will now embark on a new journey, beginning with test days in Sweden this weekend, before kicking off the season in Germany at the end of April.

“I am really proud to be part of this fully electric and sustainable junior series", Frey commented. "NXT Gen Cup gives me the opportunity to take the next step in my motorsport career.”

The fully electric NXT Gen Cup has delivered exciting racing and has served as a strong platform for young drivers over the past two years, featuring a significant number of female entrants.

Linda Frey is the fourth female driver to be announced for the 2025 season to date.

Launched in 2023, the NXT Gen Cup expanded internationally in 2024 with races in Oschersleben and at the Nürburgring as part of the DTM support package. Its continued partnership with the popular GT3 championship in 2025 will further develop the platform, attracting an increasing number of young drivers looking to use the electric touring car series as a springboard into electric racing or other forms of closed-cockpit motorsport.
