After promising testing improvements, Lily-May Watkins will make her single-seater debut in the 2025 GB4 Championship with KMR Sport, joining the reigning champions and stepping up from club karting.

Lily-May Watkins is set to make her single-seater debut in 2025 as she steps up to the GB4 Championship with three-time title-winning team KMR Sport.
The 17-year-old British driver began karting in 2019, quickly showcasing her potential by securing podium finishes in one-day junior race events. After primarily competing in Esports throughout 2020, she returned to on-track racing in 2021, finishing third overall in the Lando Cup with four podium results.
Her racing journey has since included reaching the semi-finals of the 2023 British Indoor Karting Championship and competing in the British Universities Karting Championship 24-hour race. Watkins has also been a member of the Young Racing Driver Academy and gained extensive simulator training to prepare for her transition to single-seaters.
Towards the end of 2024, Watkins completed her first laps in a GB4 car during a testing program with older-generation machinery. She has since logged valuable mileage in the new Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car, testing with KMR Sport.
Following testing progression, Lily-May Watkins has now finalized a deal to compete in the full 2025 GB4 season with the reigning champions, joining fellow female racer Megan Bruce.
“I’m very excited to be making the step into GB4 with KMR for the 2025 season", she commented. "I am looking forward to being part of such a successful but also welcoming team, and I’m eager to bring my best for them."
“The prospect of competing at this level and being part of a welcoming and inclusive category is something I have only dreamed of. I am excited to continue building across pre-season testing, learn from my teammates, and be ready for round one in a few weeks."
Watkins is the third female driver to be announced in the 2025 GB4 Championship, following Holly Miall at Fox Motorsport and teammate Megan Bruce, entering her second season in the championship. The female participation in the series was boosted last year with the introduction of the MSV prize fund for the top finishing female driver, a € 50,000 scholarship towards a potential F1 Academy seat.
“We’re really looking forward to playing a part in Lily’s development this year", said KMR Sport Team Principal Kevin Mills, expressing his enthusiasm for Watkins’ arrival.
"She’s obviously very new to car racing, but has achieved good results in club level karting and really surprised us with her pace in our first tests together at Pembrey. Lily’s progress was clear to see at Snetterton last week with a near five second lap time gain across the two days."
“We expect this to be a year of constant progress for Lily and she will be working closely with Tom throughout the year. With our help, we hope she will be able to work her way up the grid as the season goes on, especially based on her current progress rate.”
GB4 Championship will feature a seven-round, 21-race calendar in 2025, racing at UK's top circuits alongside British GT starting from the curtain-raiser in Donington Park in April.
