Kaká Magno completes her second season in Stock Series Brazil

Experienced driver Kaká Magno completed her second consecutive season competing in the feeder series to Brazil's premier class - the Stock Car Pro Series - and also participated in the selection test for TCR South America, collecting valuable experience.

After representing Brazil at the FIA Motorsport Games held in Valencia, Spain, in October, Kaká Magno returned to action on home soil to compete in the final round of the Stock Series. Having raced in the touring car series since last year, Magno would have three more races over the weekend to continue fighting for a place in the top 10 of the championship at the conclusion of the 2024 season.

On Friday morning, Magno took part in the free practice sessions and achieved her best result in FP1 - with a lap of 1:46.346s. After facing some setbacks, she qualified for races 1 and 2 with a double P13, but remained confident in fighting for better results in the following sessions.

With the last minute recruitment of Bruna Tomaselli to replace one of the KTF Sports drivers in Stock Car Pro, Kaká Magno therefore became the only female representative on the Stock Series grid over the weekend.

Race 1

Starting race 1 in 11th position, Kaká Magno had a chance to fight for points and try to reach the top 10 in the drivers' standings by the end of the championship. Her car was performing well in the initial stages, but a decrease in tyre pressure caused the pace to gradually worsen as time went by.

At the end of the first lap, she was battling with Akyu Myasava for P12, but was overtaken. With the retirement of Vinícius Papareli - her teammate at RTR Sport Team - in the first few minutes of the race, Kaká Magno recovered a position. On the penultimate lap, Mathias de Valle also hit trouble and pitted. Magno then moved up to eleventh place, where she crossed the finish line.

Race 2

On Sunday afternoon, the drivers returned to action for the last time in 2024, to compete in races 2 and 3. The main duel on the day was between Arthur Gama and Enzo Bedani, who were still fighting for the Stock Series title - and the spot in the main Brazilian class next year.

Starting again from 11th place on the grid, Kaká Magno aimed to recover from the challenges of the previous race and collect more points. Although she lost a position, she had been at a good pace since the green flag was waved.

When Hugo Cibien and Vinícius Papareli were involved in an incident in the following laps, Magno inherited their positions and entered the top 10 - reaching the point-scoring zone.

Everything was looking promising until she was caught out by a brake failure: with around 8 minutes to go, her car spun in the S of Senna, but managed to get back onto the track. But the mechanical problem persisted and she lost control of her machine again and was ultimately forced to retire.

Without enough time to replace the components, unfortunately Magno ended up unable to start race 3 - thus ending her campaign prematurely in the 2024 Stock Series season: "We had a very good car for races 2 and 3. Unfortunately, we lost our brakes and had to retire", she commented. "God knows all things. Second year in the series, I learned a lot. What a great experience! Thank you to my sponsors for the opportunity."

The Stock Series championship ended with Arthur Gama claiming the title. With misfortunes preventing her from collecting points in the final round, Kaká Magno finished in 12th place in the drivers' standings, having totaled 149 points throughout the 2024 season.

TCR South America selection

After the end of the competition, Kaká Magno still had a special commitment to fulfill. On a weekend with a busy schedule - in which the Interlagos Circuit hosted the closing action in 2024 of the 4 main series on the national scene, there was still space for the TCR South America selection process.

Alongside Renata Camargo and Maria Nienkötter, Kaká Magno had her first opportunity behind the wheel of an Audi RS3 LMS TCR from Cobra Racing Team, where she was able to accumulate mileage and learn more about the machine.

She shared her feelings about the test: “I’m really excited to have the opportunity to drive a TCR car! It’s a very fast front-wheel drive machine that I’ve never driven before. It’s very responsive in the corners and I feel like I’ve adapted to the car very well in today’s practice.”

After a promising sophomore campaign in the Stock Car Series—Brazil's premier championship and a key stepping stone in motorsport—Kaká Magno is now focusing on her plans for 2025, building on the progress she demonstrated throughout the season.
