Iron Dames announced their 2025 Daytona 24 Hours line-up, featuring experienced drivers Michelle Gatting, Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy - in her new silver rating - and Karen Gaillard, joining the main line-up for the first time as the team transitions to Porsche machinery.
Groundbreaking team Iron Dames announced their driver line up for the upcoming 2025 24 Hours of Daytona, first round of the IMSA SportCar Championship.
The all-female team will return to the iconic endurance race for the third consecutive time - this time with a new quarter of drivers and with a new car.
Alongside gold-rated Michelle Gatting and silver-rated Rahel Frey - who have been pillars of the team since its launch in 2019 - Sarah Bovy will return behind the wheel, this time in her new driver classification as silver, following extraordinary performances over the past few years as bronze.
The well-tested trio will be joined by 23-year-old Karen Gaillard, who joined the team at the beginning of 2024 and contested her first campaign at the wheel of GT3 machinery.
The Swiss driver had an impressive season of development, finishing twice in the top five in Le Mans Cup and once on the podium. At the end of her rookie campaign, she was sixth in the standings, with bronze-rated teammate Célia Martin being promoted to the main Iron Dames line up following Sarah Bovy's recategorization.
Gaillard then took part in the ELMS rookie test, driving a Porsche LMGT3 and making good progress over the day. She recently made headlines for becoming the first woman to win the Porsche Junior shootout and therefore securing a seat in Porsche Carrera Cup France.
Earlier this month, Gaillard also travelled to Daytona, tackling her first test at the iconic circuit alongside Rahel Frey.
With Frey setting a reference, Gaillard also proved very competitive, completing 122 laps, the second highest mileage of anyone in the GTD class.
It will be Karen's first race with the Iron Dames main line up, and she will be aiming to build on the endurance experience she collected earlier in her career, when she contested the 24H Series including appearances at the 24h of Dubai and Barcelona - as well as her Ultimate Cup campaigns in prototypes.
Iron Dames claimed a best result of sixth in class at Daytona, recorded at the 2025 edition of the race, with Gatting, Frey and Bovy joined by Doriane Pin. In a month's time, the new quartet will get to drive the #83 Porsche 911 GT3 R 992, as the team will switch to Porsche machinery after running the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the previous two seasons.
The Roar Before the Rolex 24 is scheduled for January 17-19, which precedes the race week from 22-26 January.
