Seventeen-year-old Holly Miall steps up from Ginetta Juniors and will debut in single-seaters with Fox Motorsport in the 2025 GB4 Championship.
Holly Miall is set to make her debut in single seaters as she steps up to the GB4 Championship in 2025 with Fox Motorsport.
“I’m so excited to step up to GB4 with Fox Motorsport", Miall commented. "I feel like part of the family here and I know the team will do everything they can to help me prepare for the start of the season."
The British 17 year old will therefore continue with the Essex-based team which ran her two seasons in the highly competitive Ginetta Junior Championship, where she secured a season's best of 12th at Donington in 2024 and showcased consistency by completing every single race throughout the season, scoring points in 20 out of 25 races in her sophomore campaign.
Miall started karting at the age of seven and made her way up the ranks of categories such as Cadets, Mini Max and Junior Rotax before stepping up to cars in the notoriously propaedeutic Ginettas.
On her rookie season, Miall finished all but two of the 27 races, again maximising track time and developing as a driver, with her first top-10 result coming at the season finale at Donington.
Miall is now set to make the transition to single seaters, moving to the British-based GB4 Championship - a platform that has proven to be a very competitive and cost effective alternative to regional-F4 championships. Having run the first-gen F4 machine since its launch in 2022, the MSV-promoted series is set to introduce a new car in 2025 - the new Tatuus MSV GB4-025, an upgraded version of the previous car, now Halo-equipped, improved aero and a normally aspirated engine.
Miall has already started a testing programme with Fox Motorsport, driving both the first-gen car as well as the new Tatuus to prepare for her rookie campaign.
"I knew from my first time in the car that a GB4 single-seater was much better-suited to my driving style than what I’ve raced before", Holly said. "It’s physically harder to drive, we have slick tyres and there’s just a lot more going on all the time."
Miall is the first female driver to announce her presence on the GB4 grid in 2025. The championship launched an initiative to increase female participation in 2024, with a €50,000 prize fund for the top female finisher in the standings towards an F1 Academy seat should they go on to secure a drive in the all-female series promoted by F1.
Alisha Palmowski, also stepping up from Ginetta Junior Championship, went on to become vice-champion in 2024, becoming the first recipient of the prize-fund.
Five GB4 female drivers have so far raced in F1 Academy - with Megan Gilkes, Chloe Grant and Jessica Edgar all stepping up in 2023, while Palmowski and Logan Hannah competed as Wild Cards in 2024.
"The €50,000 prize for F1 Academy is obviously a target as it’s somewhere I’d love to be in the future, but for now I’ll be focusing on doing the best job I can over the winter to be ready to go for the first race", Miall continued. "As ever, a huge thank you to Digiphore, OJM Insulations and Gridit, who are supporting me for another year.”
GB4 Championship will feature a seven-round, 21-race calendar in 2025, racing at UK's top circuits alongside British GT starting from the curtain-raiser in Donington Park in April.
