The 2024 F1 Academy champion will earn a fully-funded seat with Rodin Motorsport in the GB3 Championship for 2025, complete with 20 test days, advancing the F1 Academy’s commitment to support its champions in motorsport.
The all-female F1-promoted F1 Academy series will partner with the MSV-promoted GB3 Championship as the 2024 champion is set to be awarded a fully-funded seat in 2025 with Rodin Motorsport, alongside with 20 days of testing in the GB3 car to prepare for her campaign.
“We are delighted that GB3 has been chosen as the next step for the 2024 F1 Academy champion", said Jonathan Palmer, CEO of MSV. "Over the past decade there has quite rightly been a big shift in motorsport to recognise and encourage the participation of women."
"F1 Academy has been instrumental in that process and Susie’s determination to provide women with unprecedented opportunities to develop and shine is tremendously exciting."
The inaugural 2023 champion, Marta Garcia, received a funded seat in Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, which she contested with the Iron Dames team in 2024.
With F1 Academy moving towards GB3 Championship, the 2024 champion will step up to the equally fast Tatuus MSV GB3-025, which features a revised chassis for 2025, a new 280hp engine and the addition of DRS.
GB3 Championship will also move towards a continental calendar for the first time, expanding outside the UK with rounds at F1 circuits such as Zandvoort, Spa Francorchamps, Hungaroring and Monza, alongside UK-based Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donington Park.
“At F1 Academy we are striving to create opportunities for women to succeed at all levels of our sport, and a testament to that mission is our commitment to putting together the best possible package for our Champions to move onwards and upwards", F1 Academy managing director Susie Wolff commented.
"Together with our driver development team, we’re proud to support our 2024 Champion with a fully funded seat in GB3 with Rodin Motorsport in 2025. This will provide her with a fantastic opportunity to continue her development and aid her future progression.”
MSV had previously announced a partnership with F1 Academy for its entry level series, GB4 Championship, which launched a scholarship fund for its highest finishing female driver whether she would be promoted to F1 Academy.
Palmer has now announced an increased prize package for the 2025 GB4 Championship to €50,000 towards a F1 Academy drive, up from the €30,000 secured by Alisha Palmowski in 2024.
Current F1 Academy championship leader, Abbi Pulling, sits in a comfortable position with a 95 point advantage over Doriane Pin with two rounds to go.
The only female racer to have raced in GB3 Championship since its inception has been Saudi driver Reema Juffali in 2021.
