F1 Academy announces 2025 calendar

The 2025 F1 Academy season will feature a seven-round calendar with new venues in Shanghai, Montreal, and Las Vegas, emphasizing street circuits as a fully F1-supporting series, with 15 test days retained to aid driver development.

The F1-promoted all-female championship F1 Academy revealed its 2025 calendar, the third in its history.

After contesting a primarily European-based inaugural season outside of the F1 supporting programme, F1 Academy joined Formula 1 for the first time at COTA for the 2023 season finale, announcing that its second season would entirely consist of supporting rounds on the F1 calendar.

This move resulted in a global calendar of mostly flyaway rounds due to the limited slots in the F1 weekend, with 7 rounds starting from the opener at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Miami, Barcelona, Zandvoort, Singapore, Lusail and Yas Marina - with the last two still to be contested.

The weekend format was also altered from its inaugural season, with some rounds being cut to one sole practice and the reverse grid race being canned in favor of two races per weekend, for a total of 14 races.

The 2025 season will retain 7 rounds, with three new venues making their debut: the season will kick off on March 21-23 at Shanghai, China, then will return to Jeddah for the second round in April, with the Miami International Autodrome set to host again the female series in May.

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada, will host the fourth round for the first time on June 13-15, before the only European round of the season, in Zandvoort, in August.

The series will then move back to Asia for the Singapore GP round in October, before the season finale on November 20-22 in Las Vegas, USA, the only country set to host two rounds.

With three double-headers in North America and three in Asia, the F4-based series keeps moving away from Europe, with five of the seven venues set to be street circuits.

F1 Academy confirmed that 15 official test days will be retained again in 2025 like in the previous two seasons, maximising track time on circuits where most of the drivers will be driving on for the first time.
