Mercedes junior and Iron Dame Doriane Pin is set to continue her single seater journey with a multi-program in 2025, as she will return to F1 Academy for her sophomore campaign, while also continue to climb the ranks in Formula Regional machinery in both Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine and in Formula Regional Middle East Championship.

The French star made headlines in 2024 in her rookie season in single seaters, which started with a surprise outing in F4 SEA at the start of the year, ending in her first F4 victory.

She then continued her developmental campaign with the uber competitive F4 UAE championship, again collecting another victory which put her name among the most exciting formula prospects.

Pin eventually went on to join the all-female F1 Academy, as the young talent joined the Mercedes Junior Program in a Prema-operated entry. She continued to impress in pre-season testing and, at the season opener in Jeddah, Saudi, she claimed a dominant double-victory - only to have her second win revoked by a post-race penalty.

Pin however continued to score podium finishes at the following rounds, returning to the top step of the rostrum in Zandvoort with a pole, win and fastest lap. She repeated the achievement in Lusail, Qatar.

Pin concluded her first season with three wins, eighth podiums, five pole positions and four fastest laps, ultimately securing the Vice-Champion title.

The 20 year old driver is now set to return to the all-female championship in 2025, again representing Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team at Prema Racing. She is the first officially confirmed driver from the two-time team champions.

“I am excited to continue this journey together with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and Iron Dames next year", Pin stated. "After becoming vice champion in F1 Academy in my maiden season, I am extremely motivated to go for the drivers’ title in 2025. I will be pushing myself hard to improve over the winter and hopefully can enjoy an even stronger season next year.”

Doriane, who remains part of the Iron Dames stable after starting with the team in endurance racing in 2021, will start her preparation with a partial campaign in Formula Regional Middle East Championship, which will see the Prema driver competing at Dubai Autodrome, Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi and Jeddah in Saudi.

Following her rookie season in FRECA in 2024, where she secured four top-20 finishes with a personal best of 13th in Le Castellet in a season marred by a rij injury, Pin is also set to return to the European-based Formula Regional series, again with Prema after racing for the Iron Dames outfit in 2024.

"Her 2025 campaign will enable her to consolidate her place among the world's top single-seater talents", Deborah Mayer, Iron Dames founder, said. "With the unwavering support of the Iron Dames family and elite partnerships with Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 and PREMA Racing, we are ensuring she has the best possible environment in which to develop and succeed at the highest level.”

A finalist in the inaugural edition of the FIA Girls On Track - Rising Stars, Pin soon joined Iron Dames in 2021, impressing in the Michelin Le Mans Cup on her GT3 debut. In 2022 she dominated the Ferrari Challenge Europe, with 9 wins and 13 podiums out of 14 races to claim the title. At the same time, she contested select rounds of FIA WEC, GT World Challenge Europe, European Le Mans Series and Lamborghini Super Trofeo; she was part of the line up that took class victory in the 24 Hours of Spa and took victory in the ELMS 4H of Portimao.

Pin's rise in sports cars continued in 2023, as she turned heads with a stunning campaign in WEC in the LMP2 class, just missing out on a win in her first race. She was named FIA WEC Revelation of the Year, before starting the transition to single seaters towards her goal of reaching the top of formula racing.

“Making the switch from GT and endurance cars is never easy, as both the driving style and skill set required is different", Mercedes F1 Team Driver Development Advisor Gwen Lagrue said. "She has handled that change well, achieving success in several championships and competing strongly in F1 Academy."

"Considering the progress she has taken this year and the experience she now has, we are confident that Doriane can fight for the F1 Academy title in 2025."

Pin becomes the tenth announced driver for the 2025 F1 Academy season, which is set to start in Shanghai, China, on 22-23 March.
