Chloe Grant completed her 2024 GB4 Championship campaign with a top-six finish at the Brands Hatch finale, the sixth of her season, securing eighth place in the final drivers’ standings.

Grant returned to GB4 after making her single-seater debut in 2022 and, after competing in the inaugural F1 Academy championship in 2023 with ART Grand Prix, she signed with KMR Sport for the British-based series in 2024. Despite minimal testing and limited track time compared to most of the field due to budget constraints, Grant delivered strong performances, including a podium finish at the season opener at Oulton Park.

After her second-place finish at Oulton Park, the Scottish racer returned to the top five at Silverstone and Donington, and scored 12 top-ten finishes ahead of the Brands Hatch finale on the GP circuit layout.

Grant was eighth fastest in the Brands GP testing prior to the event, then skipped the Friday sessions at the Indy layout, focusing on qualifying preparation on Saturday. She qualified eighth in both the fastest and second-fastest lap classifications, a little over a second and a half behind Linus Granfors, who secured both pole positions.

In the first race at Brands Hatch, Grant started from eighth on the grid. A clean start from race leader Linus Granfors saw him pull away, while Lucas Blakely and Tom Burgoyne battled for second place. Grant held her position off the line, staying close to her competitors.

As Granfors made a mistake, Burgoyne and Palmowski capitalized, moving ahead of him and into the top spots. Chloe maintained her eighth place, closing in on Wilson ahead, and consistently matching the pace of the cars ahead.

Throughout the race, Grant showed good pace, setting a personal best time of 1:26.1 and continuing to extend her gap to the drivers behind her. The KMR Sport team had a successful race overall, with Burgoyne taking the victory after an intense battle with Blakely.

Despite a relatively uneventful race, Chloe finished in a solid eighth position, adding another top-ten finish to her season tally.

The second race of the weekend saw Grant line up again in P8. As the lights went out, Linus Granfors, trying to clinch the 2024 GB4 Championship title, struggled with wheelspin, which allowed Blakely and Harrison to move ahead. However, Harrison's early advantage was short-lived due to a mistake, causing him to drop back into the pack. Chloe, momentarily down to ninth, was soon engaged in a fierce battle with Harrison, Baxter, and Templeton.

The race featured multiple position changes as drivers fought for track position. Grant was able to improve her lap times, setting a 1:28.4, and keeping up with the pace of the cars ahead.

As Baxter and Taylor engaged in a tight battle, Chloe patiently waited for her opportunity to make a move. Eventually, Baxter managed to pull away, and Grant found herself chasing Taylor for the remainder of the race.

At the front, Lucas Blakely took a dominant win, with Granfors settling for second and securing the championship title. Grant crossed the line in tenth place, securing another top-ten result, despite not being able to find a way past Taylor in the closing stages.

For the final race of the season, Chloe Grant focused on securing eighth in the championship standings as well as defend ninth, with just a four-point margin over her rivals.

The reverse-grid format placed her in P4 for the start of race three; drama unfolded immediately as Lucas Blakely spun on the formation lap while trying to warm up his tyres in the cold 12°C conditions, forcing a delayed start.

When the race eventually got underway, the cold temperatures led to challenging starts for many, including Grant, who dropped to P8 as the cars struggled with wheelspin off the line. Early chaos ensued as Baxter made a mistake, and Jack Taylor spun out, triggering a safety car on lap two. This allowed Grant to gain a position, moving her up to P7.

When the race resumed on lap four, with just eight minutes left on the clock, Grant capitalized on errors ahead, climbing into sixth place. She defended her position from Wilson and closed in on Baxter, fighting for a spot in the top five. In the end, Finn Harrison took the victory, while Grant finished in a strong sixth place, holding off Burgoyne on the final lap with a determined defense.

This final race performance allowed Chloe Grant to not only save ninth place in the standings but to secure eighth with 208 points, finishing six points ahead of both Jack Taylor and Leon Wilson.

Grant’s 2024 season saw her maximize opportunities despite limited track time and budget constraints. She finished the year with 15 top-ten results in 20 races, six top-six finishes, and a podium.

Despite some technical challenges and misfortunes, Chloe Grant demonstrated strong racecraft and resilience throughout the season. Her 2025 plans are not yet settled, with potential options outside of single-seaters being considered.
