British racer Chloe Chong is set to make a return to F1 Academy in 2025, as she joins the ranks of Rodin Motorsport for the final spot on the grid, in the entry supported by series' partner Charlotte Tilbury.
“I’m super happy to be making a return to F1 Academy this season and to be representing Charlotte Tilbury,” said Chong. “When I was first introduced to the brand, I instantly felt at home with their ethos of championing the magic of confidence and big dreams in order to achieve goals.”
The 17 year old was the youngest driver on the F1 Academy grid in the series' inaugural season in 2023, having been announced at 15 and turned 16 just before her debut. She is also the only driver to date to have made her first car racing start directly in F1 Academy, having stepped up from karting following her selections in the FIA Girls On Track - Rising Stars program.
Chong scored points on her first ever race with a sixth place at Red Bull Ring, as part of the Prema Racing line up. She equalled that result one round later at Valencia, again scoring sixth in race 2. Despite some bad luck in the following rounds, the young racer made steady progress and honed her race craft, often battling for the top ten. Chloe set the fastest lap of the race at Monza, and returned to the points-paying positions at Paul Ricard, before enjoying a highly positive finale at COTA, where she finished in the top ten in all three races.
She then graduated to British F4, joining JHR Developments for her first season of mixed-gender F4 in 2025. After a very positive pre-season testing, Chong scored her first points in Donington's reverse grid race at the season opener, and progressively closed in on the top-ten, with a P13 as personal best at Thruxton. Gaining five places at Zandvoort's reverse grid race awarded her more points, before she topped her best finish with a P12 in Knockhill.
The season highlight came again at Donington one round later, when she first scored an eleventh place - and then claimed her maiden top ten with seventh in the final race of the weekend. She ended her rookie season in the highly-competitive British F4 with 16 points.
Chloe Chong is now set to make her return to F1 Academy, eager to showcase her development over the last year and battle her way forward in the all-female championship promoted by F1 - and will do so as part of the Rodin Motorsport line up, joining rookies mma Felbermayr and Ella Lloyd.
“I truly believe in setting myself up for success; so joining the Charlotte Tilbury family feels just like that” Chong added. “Their brand story is beyond inspiring, and it’s something I would like to replicate on track. I am grateful for their support in my career, and I can’t wait to shoot for the stars wearing their colours in the year ahead.”
Beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury first joined the F1 Academy grid with a sponsored car in 2024, supporting Lola Lovinfosse's entry, and is now returning to the grid with Chloe Chong.
The company announced that to celebrate the renewal of their F1 Academy deal, 100% of the sales of one of their products on International Women's Day will go towards funding free karting sessions for young girls. In addition, Charlotte Tilbury will launch a scholarship to support one girl's participation in the the 2026 British Indoor Karting Championship.
“This year, I am so excited to be championing F1 Academy driver Chloe Chong, who is driving our iconic Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips car", said Charlotte Tilbury. "Having made history as the youngest ever driver in F1 Academy in 2023, she is a true trailblazer in motorsport, an inspiration to so many and I am incredibly proud to be supporting her on her journey."
The first official collective test is scheduled for this week in Shanghai, China, which will also host the opening round on March 22-23. The 2025 season will feature seven double-header rounds, with Miami following the series' first ever visit to China, before Montreal - where dual-nationality Chong will have the chance to race on a home round.
Zandvoort will host the only European leg of the season in August, while Singapore and Las Vegas will round out the championship after the summer break.
